Vision, Mission, Principles and Practices

Vision:

Courage & Renewal – North Texas is the trusted, premier resource for renewal, empowering individuals to live with greater personal wholeness, professional integrity and vocational vitality.

Mission:

Courage & Renewal – North Texas (CRNT) provides personal and professional renewal experiences that help individuals reconnect who they are with what they do.  CRNT provides direct renewal experiences through offering retreats, supporting the consulting work of facilitators, and collaborating with other organizations who want to provide renewal opportunities for target constituencies.

Core Principles:

The business of Courage & Renewal - North Texas will be conducted in a manner congruent with the principles and practices inherent in our renewal work with individuals. Specifically,

  • The wisdom within each individual is valued and encouraged in our common work,
  • Our individual journeys towards greater wholeness strengthen the fabric of the Courage community, and
  • Trustworthy relationships among colleagues provide the foundation for effective service and lasting partnership.

Practices That Guide Our Work:

We will expect of ourselves and one another the following behaviors in our interactions:

  • Be present in the work (show up and bring experience, expertise, gifts)
  • Speak my truth. Listen without defense and for understanding
  • Prepare for my participation in the various aspects of CTT so meaningful contributions can be made
  • Use language that is inviting, inclusive and understandable
  • Suspend judgment of other individuals
  • Hold one another’s stories in confidence

In our business with one another we will organize our deliberations to allow for the following:

  • Hear the wisdom that emerges from individual reflection and small and large group dialogue
  • Deal with the deeper issues and understandings related to important items of business
  • Address the paradoxical nature of issues and opportunities
  • Use dialogue, honest and open questions, silence, and exploration of materials that encourage consideration of business items from a formational perspective
  • Share leadership in the identification and development of topics for discussion, decision and action
  • Turn times of disagreement into opportunities for learning
  • Utilize consensus as the primary form of decision-making, but if it is not reached, trust the group to move forward as it should
